She is in search of answers, and the reader searches with her. I saw pieces of myself in every charcater, but mostly in her. She has a feeling of emptiness which she is constantly trying to fill -or pretend it doesn't exist- but she doesn't learn how to begin to face it, because she doesn't know who she is. By the end of the book, she has done some impressive progress and has grown a great deal.UKhttp://ucanbewhatuwant.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38420947617335256.post-71783373422398335922012-01-31T16:32:30.007-06:002012-01-31T16:32:30.007-06:00I thought of it as a fantasy, too. Having Paris, for example, a walk through a doorway away would be nice, I completely agree.Cheyenne Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07208101173842036167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38420947617335256.post-32107008652898911562012-01-31T14:45:30.413-06:002012-01-31T14:45:30.413-06:00I think for a paranormal (though I think I'd p...I think for a paranormal (though I think I'd prefer to call this one fantasy over paranormal...) book, DoSaB does a better job of developing the world and creatures than other books that kind of assume you know how the system works just because of the many similar angel/vampire/werewolf books out there. Karou's world is also a lot more complex which is why I think I give the author more leeway in taking her time to develop the story.

I totally agree with you about the setting though. I want to visit Europe soon! I wish it was as easy as Karou's method.Cialina at Muggle-Born.nethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15149012619221886587noreply@blogger.com
