We've nearly made it to the end of Haunted Week, so it's fitting that today we'll be talking about a lot of endings. Tombstones always have an inscription; the very last words of a person. Today we'll be looking at the very last words of 5 different books. (And because I'm terrified of spoilers, I'll only be using books I've already finished!)
1. Wither
by Lauren DeStefano
by Lauren DeStefano
"This time, I don't know where the light will guide us."
"For once, I didn't look back."
3. The Hunger Games
by Rick Riordan
"I take his hand, holding on tightly, preparing for the cameras, and dreading the moment when I will finally have to let go."
"And yet, she knew she could be."
"She looked as the fireworks exploded in a shower of sparks—sparks that painted the clouds overhead as they fell, one by one, in streaking lines of golden fire, like angels falling from the sky."
Ooh, I like the ones for Wither, and The Hunger Games! Those quotes are totally awesome--the only book I haven't read on this list is The Percy Jackson one--and now I feel bad. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know, The Hunger Games one is actually one of my favorite quotes from the entire book, so I immediately knew it was one of the sentences I'd use. Ooh, read Percy Jackson! :D
DeleteI didn't realize we were supposed to do our favorite last lines!! I just picked five that I had on my bookshelf. Oh well...
ReplyDeleteI love the line from Hunger Games <3
It doesn't have to be favorites—these were all just books I had on my bookshelf! Although some of them are my favorites. ;)
DeleteI know, it's so heartbreakingly sweet. (:
Loved the endings to Wither, Hunger Games and The Heist Society... I loved both of those books as a whole anyways! ;) Nice list!

Haha, yeah, I happen to love all these books as a whole as well. They're some of my favorites! (:
